Mr. James Mbote /holds a Bachelor’ Degree in Technology Education (Electrical & Electronics Option) from Moi University, an MBA in Oil and Gas from Middlesex University – London, a Diploma in Management of Information Systems (MIS) from Strathmore College and various other upstream oil and gas technical and risk management courses, including Master Risk Assessor Training in The Netherlands.
James Mbote is the current sitting chairperson of the Oil and Gas Contractors Association of Kenya. (OGCA-K).
JAMES MBOTE
Managing Director
James Mbote is a seasoned Oil and Gas Professional and an accomplished business leader with vast experience in the global upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors. He has previously worked with Nabors Drilling International Limited (NDIL) in Kenya, Tanzania, Libya, Oman and Kuwait. He also worked with Woodside Energy PTY in Kenya during the drilling of the famous Pomboo 1 well. James also worked with Halliburton Worldwide Limited and Shell Iraq Petroleum Development (SIPD) in Iraq where he was involved in an Integrated Well Delivery Contract (IWDC) which involved turnkey drilling of development oil wells in one of the world’s largest oilfield (Majnoon Oilfield). While in Iraq, James was also assigned special Technical HSE assignments for the start-up of Exxon Mobil Iraq Limited (EMIL) West Qurna project and ENI Zubair field project.
His passion for building the industry in Kenya, coupled with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, compelled him, together with his partners, to establish OML Africa Logistics, a now renowned company offering logistical solutions and technical support services to the Oil & Gas sector, mining, major infrastructure projects and Corporates in East Africa. James serves as Managing Director for OML but also runs an indigenous oilfield support services company (ROLSS Ltd) which operates in Kenya, Uganda and the larger Eastern Africa. In addition, he holds directorships in other upstream and midstream oil and gas related entities such as Caprock Drilling International Ltd (CDI) which is an entirely owned Kenyan drilling and workover company established to bridge the gap in local players involved in drilling, workover and well completion operations.
Through these companies, Mr. Mbote has been able to demonstrate the existence of local capacity to undertake specialized work in the emerging Oil & Gas sector. Under his direction, OML has revolutionized the upstream oil and gas industry in Kenya by reducing drilling rig-move timelines from twenty-five (25) days to three and a half (3.5) days within a 15km radius. OML has also demonstrated and continues to demonstrate operational excellence where the Company has achieved exceptional safety and operational milestones without lost time incidents.

MWENDIA NYAGA
Finance Director
Mwendia Nyaga is an Oil & Gas professional with 14 years’ industry experience in Kenya and the East African region. He is currently Finance Director of OML Africa Logisitics having held this position since the company was founded in 2012. Prior to this, Mwendia has held top finance positions having been head of Finance at National Oil Corporation of Kenya, a State Corporation in the Oil and Gas sector, Group Finance Manager for Unga Holdings Limited and Finance Manager at Unga Feeds Limited. Previously, Mwendia was a Senior Auditor at Deloitte in Kenya where he started his finance and accounting career.
He is also the Chief Executive of Oil & Energy Services a boutique advisory firm providing consulting services to clients with an interest in the upstream and downstream petroleum industry in the Eastern Africa region. The company has been involved in several transformational projects in both private and public sectors. Before founding Oil and Energy Services and jointly founding Oilfield Movers Limited, Mwendia was the CEO of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya and later a Consultant to the Ministry of Energy.
FRED MBOTE
Human Resource and Administration Director
Mr. Mbote is a youthful and energetic Kenyan Entrepreneur. He graduated from Strathmore University with a 1 st Class Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Finance (Double Major) degree and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K).
He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management, both from Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Business School.
12 years of solid experience in the Oil & Energy Industry has seen him work in various countries in Africa. For the last 9 years, Mr. Mbote has been intimately involved in the establishment and development of Royal Oilfields Logistics Services & Supplies Limited and OML Africa Logistics. These are two indigenous East African Companies that pioneered the provision of world-class logistical and support services to the Oil and Energy Industry in the region.
This has seen them win and execute high-value contracts with clients such as Tullow Kenya BV, Marriot Drilling Africa, Weatherford Drilling International, and a host of other Multinational Companies. In addition to serving in the Board of Directors, he is the leader of the Finance, Human Resource, and Administrative dockets.
JACOB MASEGA
Operations Manager
Mr. Masega is a Certified Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya spanning a 12 years’ experience. His background has earned him responsibilities in the Petroleum/Energy sector, with a background in Engineering, Project planning & Management and Business Administration, Sales and Marketing. He is currently in charge of supervising logistics operations at Oilfield Movers Limited.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronic Engineering, a Masters of Arts Degree in Project Planning and Management and a Masters in Business Administration.
He has participated in a number of professional engagements which include:
- Risk Management in the Oil and Gas Industry. – Petroleum Institute of East Africa/OPCOL Business Consultant.
- Gaining business Edge through performance. -Raiser Group -Kenya.

GEE GATABAKI
Asset Integrity Manager
Mr. Gatabaki spans a 5 year maintenance management career distinguished by commended performance and proven results in the oil and gas sector, using quality management systems while utilizing British Standards BS7121-2-3, ISO 55000 and PAS 55 for standards on Asset Integrity Management.
He has a background in B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from The University of Nairobi and a Pg. Diploma in Asset and Integrity Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland.
He is certified in Reliability Centered Maintenance, World Class Maintenance Strategies and Leadership by Prime Quality Training, as well as Vibration Analysis Category I and II by the Mobius Institute. His other professional accreditations are:

OSCAR KISILU
Senior Finance Associate
Oscar Kisilu is Finance and accounting professional with over 18 years’ experience in logistics sector in Kenya and the East African region. He is currently the Senior Finance Associate at Oilfield Movers Limited having held this position since the company was founded in 2013. Prior to this, Oscar Kisilu has held different finance positions in DHL Exel Supply Chain, initially as contract accountant then as Business Group accountant.
Qualification:
Certified Public Account of Kenya (CPA-K) and active member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
Bachelor of Commerce degree from KCA University.
